Two weeks ago, my laptop broke, with a screen saying to check the two fans. My dad gave it to someone he knows to fix. I just got it back with the news that all of its contents have been obliterated.

Goodbye, WIPs. Goodbye, programs. Goodbye, documents. What's perhaps worse is that my dad paid this dipshit $100, who didn't bother to notify us he was erasing everything to "fix" it. This means I'll have to stick with my laptop for a while longer, as opposed to buying a new one, which I'll need anyway because my current one isn't small enough to be easily portable.

Dad says we'll get me a new laptop for college and to use my old laptop till then, since it's just like new anyway (but not really). Yet I don't see how that's going to happen since my parents can't even pay for college itself.

I'm going to need a lot of grants and scholarships. Cross your fingers for me, guys.
